Hello TRIPLEDDRUGGCO!

Today marks a historic occasion, in which my first real project makes it to a 0.1 beta release. 

The journey for this game has been quite long. i started this project sometime around early may/late april. The original idea was to have a wave based defense against your growing encampment. The project definitely grew outside that scope as it was developed though. For better or for worse! 

Being one of my first real projects, there was a hell of a lot to learn going forward. Making the side projects along the way has gotten easier and easier, thanks to what I've been learning while creating Homesteader. There's still so many things I want to add, and so many things I have to learn to add them. Some things you can expect going forward:

  • Improved combat (Classes, weapons, abilities, etc.)
  • Improved world generation
  • Improved turn system
  • Completely redone enemies and AI
  • Improved towns

As the game is, it has more of an arcade-y feel than a low brow RPG. So some things will change as it progresses. Town mechanics are the most likely to change and quite considerably as I test around how I want them to meld into the greater picture, assist your progression, and work within the mainframe. The game will certainly not be little more than a tower defense forever, that is but a consequence of the limited content I was able to add. 

On a final note, as it is September, courses will begin again soon so my development time may be somewhat limited. I hope you all enjoy what I've created up to this point, and I look forward to hearing your feedback and seeing your scores.
